Valour Finance Group are excited to announce the formation of its ‘Charity Action Group’, which includes members of staff from all departments in the group. The action group will be responsible for ensuring that Valour Finance Group continues to offer help and support to local charities and other worthy causes, in any way they can. The formation of the Charity Action Group is a part of the group’s ongoing commitment towards bringing a positive change to the community that we operate.
Whilst announcing the formation of the Charity Action Group our CEO, Mark Bowker, said, “The work that Together Trust do is inspiring and we want to play our part in helping our community. The aim of the action group is to help fulfill our pledge to offer more volunteer hours in 2016 than what we did in 2015.”
On 2nd Feb 2016, a group of our charity action group members, including the marketing team from Savvy.co.uk, participated in the grand opening of ‘inCafe’. This was another step towards the group’s commitment to work with Together Trust and to continue making a difference in the lives of children and young adults with autism.
According to www.autism.org.uk only 15% of people with autism are in full time employment. This is despite the fact that 79% of people with autism who are on out of work benefits actually want to work. For many, all they need is a combination of the right support and the opportunity to make ambitions a reality. inCafe is an exciting new opportunity for children and young adults at Together Trust to build confidence and gain real world work experience. The café will help students gain lessons in customer service and hospitality that can be invaluable in their lives. The café is open three days a week and is a great spot for meeting friends and colleagues for a quick coffee.
There are other exciting projects that the Action Group are working on to get as many people as possible involved. Keep checking the news section of our website for more information about the progress we are making on charity projects.
